I'm probably going to look like a complete idiot to whoever reads this but, Im new at digital animating so i have a few questions.

1) What program do you use? Im currently using Paint Tool SAI, but is there like an animation program??
2)Dont you draw it frame by frame? I'm pretty sure thats what most do, but not completely sure.
3)Is there like a special software you can download to do this? I have Windows Movie Maker.
4) What format do you save the animation in?

Thanks for your time and I hope I was clear on the questions :)

Hey! And no man dont worry about it we all start out knowing bugger all haha

1)Hmm well i actually use Sai too, mostly because i'm used to it the most and i'm too lazy to learn how to use something else haha but since it has no animation capabilities i have to use it alongside another program like Gimp or Photoshop to do the actual animating
2)This depends on how you're gonna go about animating it, because i have photoshop i dont need to make it frame by frame but with programs like Gimp or if you're using a gif maker then yeah you will need to make each frame
3)As i said above photoshop and Gimp are good animating programs although only Gimp is free~ photoshop gives you the most amount of control and gimp gives you a little leeway to play around but both are complicated so there is always the third option to use a simple gif maker. In photoshop you can work with your file you drew in if you get me, in Gimp it must be a file with each frame as a layer, but with a GIF maker you need to save every individual frame as a PNG file and then stick them all in the program. all three have their different merits but the GIF maker is probably the easiest way
4)Okay so animations like this need to be in GIF format, im pretty sure apart from flash this is the only animation format there is but it can be a pain as just hitting save as > GIF doesn't actually make an animated GIF in photoshop/gimp you have to export it

oh wow those explanations suck im sorry haha! If i dont make sense anywhere or you need clarification on certain points just ask i really like helping out people because i remember how confusing this all was when i started and i didnt have the guts to ask for any help QAQ

Also I have a video of how i make pixels here www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OCDPk… (excuse my ugly voice ew) which may make my answers make a little more sense
